My breakfast with Nordic Shape

I've tried many ways to start the day over the years. Some periods I've chased energy, other times a calm stomach, sometimes just something that works in everyday life. The tricky part is that I'm often not even hungry in the morning. (Some of you would probably say "high cortisol", and yes - there may well be something to that.) All of this has turned breakfast into a constant experiment for me.

Honestly, I've tried most things. Smoothies in every colour. Lemon water on an empty stomach. Apple cider vinegar. Butter coffee, protein coffee. Intermittent fasting, big breakfasts, small breakfasts - you name it. Sometimes it worked for a while. Sometimes not at all.

After going through menopause - and reading, listening, and learning more - it became clearer that the body plays by slightly different rules now. To feel well, have energy, and maintain long-term health, I actually need to eat breakfast. And not just any breakfast, but one that contains protein and nutrition that gives the body something to build on. As Stacey Sims often says: "women are not small men." I've really noticed that over the years, and it has finally sunk in for me. What worked before doesn't always work now, and what works for my husband may not work for me. And that's okay.

This is also where Nordic Shape came in. As a good foundation for the day. Something the stomach can handle, that provides satiety and feels gentle - while also giving the body the nutrition it needs.

I use 2–3 teaspoons a day, usually mixed into yoghurt or filmjölk. Just stir, add some granola and sometimes extra berries. It gives a calmer, more sustained fullness. I stay satisfied longer and my stomach is more with me than against me.

Some mornings I want scrambled eggs or an avocado and egg sandwich for a bit more protein. Then I mix Nordic Shape into about 200 ml of water. It's quite high in fibre, so I stir, let it sit for a minute, then stir again. A simple combination that feels grounding and gentle. You can also mix it into porridge, chia pudding, or your smoothie, it works perfectly.

In my everyday life, the difference comes down to fewer cravings, more even energy, and a stomach that doesn't cause trouble. Carob, which is the base of Nordic Shape, has also been studied in the same satiety and blood sugar context that GLP-1 is linked to and is mainly insoluble fiber. It's easier to hit fiber goals if i don't feel bloated.

And then there are the berries. Lingonberries and bilberries, air-dried from Finnish forests. The daily dose of powder is equivalent to roughly 40 grams of lingonberries and 40 grams of bilberries. That's probably not something I would manage to eat as fresh berries every morning - but here they are, concentrated and simple, with all their natural benefits. A way to bring Nordic nature into everyday life, without making it a project. Oh, how much we searched for high-quality berries when we created Nordic Shape! But it was truly worth it.

The older I get, the clearer it becomes how important it is to look after your muscles. Not just for performance, but for strength, stability, and a functioning life when I turn 100. For me, it starts in the morning - with something considered.

We created Nordic Shape to make it a little easier to get a good start to the day. And most of the time, that's more than enough.
